Picking up the guitar

For a naive wanna be guitarist buying guitar could be as tough as buying vegatable from the market u never go to the looks of it but u have to see it by every angle as possible. The first thing i would say to a beginner buying a new guitar is to roam around different shops and try as many guitar as possible(although u don't know how to play it but still u can play strings and listen to the sound). That can actually get you some idea about good/bad sounding guitars. If you want to go to more technicality of it you have to understand the architecture of guitar. Now proffessionals generally look for guitar parts such as the straightness of neck, nice finishing of bridge etc so if you have any of your friend who has some experience of playing guitar or any proffessional you know better take them with whenever you are going to buy the guitar.

Amongst indian companies i would prefer to buy a hobner jumbo, signature jumbo(calcutta made) guitar of which a decent one will come around 3K and at the same price you can even get some china made guitar(can you imagine a field where china guys are not there no you cannot!!! ) such as Gb&A , J&D. These were around 3K budet guitars but if you want to spend more you can have decent Yamaha guitar at around 5K. Then if your budget is around 10K+ than you can go for Ibanez, Fender, Washburn(I won't describe Taylor, Martin here). But I would prefer to start with a decent medium budget guitar and then move on to some high quality ones once you have got some hold on to it.
